roolez-chat answers questions about the building and planning rules of any Swiss municipality from the documents that set them. Choose a municipality, tick the regulations and plans you need in the document tree, and have them read. Then ask: how high you may build in a zone, which boundary distances apply, what density figure a plot has, what needs a permit.
How it works
- Municipality: every Swiss municipality in the roolez registry, searchable by name or BFS number
- Documents: grouped by level (municipality, district, canton, Confederation) and topic, as roolez classifies them
- Reading: each PDF is parsed page by page and classified with docjev, so Claire knows a building regulation from an approval decision
- Answers: grounded in the passages of the documents you picked, with a citation to document and page
Frequently asked questions
Where do the documents come from?
From roolez, the Aireon registry of Swiss building and planning documents: municipal building and zoning regulations, zoning and special-use plans, and the cantonal and federal law that applies, each linked to its publisher's original PDF.
How does Claire answer?
The PDFs you pick are read page by page (with text recognition for scanned pages) and classified. For each question Claire gets the most relevant passages and answers only from them, citing document and page. Every citation opens the PDF on that page.
Do municipalities share a conversation?
No. Each municipality is its own conversation with its own documents and memory. Asking about Uster never draws on what was read for Winterthur.
Is the answer legally binding?
No. Claire summarizes the published documents; the binding text is the regulation itself, and the building authority decides in each case.
